We envision a thriving and welcoming community of anglers united by a shared passion for fly fishing, a commitment to conservation, and an appreciation for Nebraska’s waters and natural beauty. From lakes and rivers to quiet streams, we believe fly fishing creates meaningful connections — to the outdoors and to each other.
At Cornhusker Fly Fishers, we strive to inspire anglers of all experience levels through education, mentorship, and community. Whether someone is just starting out or has years on the water, we are dedicated to creating opportunities to learn, grow, and build lasting friendships.
Through our programs, events, and conservation efforts, we foster a strong sense of stewardship for the waters we love. By nurturing this connection, we aim to carry forward the spirit of fly fishing and ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.
We bring our mission to life through education, conservation, and community — creating opportunities for anglers of all experience levels to learn, connect, and give back.
From hands-on classes and mentoring to conservation efforts that protect and sustain our waters, everything we do is rooted in a shared passion for fly fishing. Through events, outings, and programs, we continue to grow a strong and welcoming community.
Over the years, Cornhusker Fly Fishers has built a lasting legacy in Nebraska — hosting successful fly fishing schools, leading conservation projects, organizing events like the Spring Fling, and supporting initiatives such as the Nebraska Trout Slam.
Together, we’re preserving the sport — and the waters we love — for future generations.

You’ll find excellent fly-fishing opportunities nearly everywhere in Nebraska — from serene lakes and quiet ponds to scenic streams and winding rivers. At CFF meetings, members share up-to-date fishing reports and tips on where the water’s active, both in Nebraska and beyond.
Just about anything that swims — and that’s part of the excitement. Whether it’s bass, bluegill, crappie, carp, catfish, trout, walleye, even gar or pike — you can target them using a fly. Fly fishing isn’t just for trout (though we love them, too!). At CFF we celebrate the variety and versatility of the sport.
Joining CFF gives you much more than just access to meetings. Benefits include:
